 NEC Urges Eligible Liberians to Take Advantage of Remaining Days for VRU Exercise March 23rd, 2014

The National Elections Commission (NEC) is calling on eligible Liberians to take advantage of the remaining days for the completion of the Voter Roll Update Exercise in several locations across the country in order to be included on the Voter Roll of the country.

The Commission said even though the Voter Roll Update Exercise ends today, March 21, 2014, there are few centers still being served across Liberia.

The Commission noted that these centers will complete the exercise on March 29 in keeping with their movement schedules.

According to a Press Release from the Commission, statistics from the Voter Roll Update Exercise processed by the Data Center puts the current number of new registrants at 61,306. Of the number, 21,676 are females while 39,630 are males. 

The statistics does not include the number of registered voters who transferred from the areas of their registration in 2011.

The Voter Roll Update Exercise which started on January 29, 2014 is targeting eligible Liberians who have attained the age of 18 years and above since the 2011 Voter Registration Exercise, Liberians who did not register in 2011 and registered Liberians who have changed their areas of registration and wish to be captured in the current areas of their residency.
