(Monrovia, 26 May 2016); The National Elections Commission (NEC) is launching the Countdown to the 2017 Presidential and Representative Elections on Sunday May 29, 2016 at a ceremony to be held at its headquarters in Monrovia. During the ceremony, NEC will launch its refurbished website, new logo, and the Facebook and Twitter to facilitate citizens’ access to information about the electoral process and upcoming elections. This event is a part of NEC’s efforts aimed to bolster public interest around the 2017 Elections and enhance citizens’ trust in the Commission’s capacity to conduct free, fair and transparent Elections in 2017. The interactive website and the social media pages will be used by the Commission to disseminate Civic Voter Education messages and also to address queries from the public on all aspects of the electoral process.
