 NEC TO CONDUCT FINAL CVE CONSULTATION IN GBARNGA, BONG COUNTY March 1st, 2013

(Monrovia,  February 27, 2013) ; The National Elections Commission will on Friday, March 1 begin the fourth in a series of Regional Consultations on the Implementation of the Six-year Civic and Voters Education Strategy for Liberia.

The consultation will take place in Gbarnga, Bong County, and will bring together 50 participants from Margibi, Bong, Lofa and Nimba Counties.

Topics to be discussed at the consultative meeting will include the Civic voters Education Road map of the National Elections Commission and the general overview of the strategic planning process of the CVE framework.

The CVE Strategic Plan is contained in the overall Six-Year Strategic Plan of the National Elections Commission which covers the period 2012 to 2014.

The Commission, in December, January and February held similar Consultations in Tubmanburg, Bomi County and Buchanan, Grand Bassa County.

In attendance at these consultative meetings were civil society representatives and Elections Magistrates from Bomi, Grand Cape Mount, Gbapolu, Grand Bassa, Sinoe and Rivercess Counties.
