PROVISIONAL RESULTS

The National Elections Commission (NEC) congratulates all voters who turned out on October 11, 2011 to vote in the Presidential and Legislative elections held across the country. The Commission also extends heartfelt gratitude to the entire citizenry of Liberia for their good deportment during the process.

The Commission further wishes to express thanks and appreciation to all poll workers, observer groups, the media, national security apparatus, and partners for their role which eventually led to the successful conduct of these elections.
My fellow citizens, ladies and gentlemen of the press, the  commission regrets to announce the untimely death of one of its  poll workers, Paul Giaque, who was assigned in District Number 5, Grand Bassa County. Paul died when his team was retrieving polling materials from the field at the closed of polls. Owing to bad road condition, the truck in which they were traveling failed while it was ascending a hill. The victim is said to have jumped off the truck, the vehilce veered off the road and instantly killed him. Our condolence goes to the bereaved family for this irreparable loss not only to the family but our nation and people. May his soul and the souls of all faithful departed, rest in perfect peace.
