Nigerian Government Delivers Logistical Items To NEC

The Charge D’ Affaires of the Embassy of Nigeria accredited near Monrovia, Mike G. Omotosho, has on behalf of his Government delivered logistics to the National Elections Commissions (NEC) to enhance the commission’s work. Mr. Omotosho presented 10 Toyota Double Cabin Pick-ups, 30 computers, 2 giant size photocopiers, among others accessories to NEC during a hand-over ceremony held at the NEC Headquarters in Sinkor, Monrovia on September 13, 2011.

Mr. Omotosho pledged his government’s continuous support toward the conduct of successful elections in Liberia slated for October 11, 2011.

Receiving the items, NEC Chairman, James M. Fromayan, lauded the government and people of Nigeria for the gesture and assured them that the donation would be used for its intended purpose. He recounted the brotherly role of the Nigerian government and its people toward the recovery and democratization of Liberia.

Also speaking at the ceremony, NEC Co-Chairman Elizabeth J. Nelson, thanked the Nigerian government for the donation while encouraging others to emulate the brotherly gesture demonstrated by   Nigeria. Cllr. Nelson joined Chairman Fromayan in recounting the many materials and human sacrifices that the Nigerian government and people have rendered in restoring peace, stability and democracy to Liberia.

Both Mr. Fromayan and Cllr. Nelson expressed the hope that the brotherly ties between the people and government of Nigeria and Liberia continue for the greater benefit of all.
